Ordained Kriya Gurus

Krishna Mohan Thompson-Singh

Krishna Mohan Thompson-Singh

Krishna Mohan Thompson-Singh is the son of Ashok Kumar Singh, a disciple of Maheshwari Prasad Dubey. He was born in 1987. When he was 11 years old, he received the first Kriya initiation from Dubeyji in 1998 in California.

Krishna continued practicing Kriya under his father’s guidance. By 2015 Krishna was initiated in all the advanced kriyas by his father Ashok K Singh. He was authorized to initiate others into Kriya Yoga by his father in 2017.

Following in the tradition of householder gurus established by Lahiri Mahasaya, Krishna is dedicated to initiating sincere seekers on a one-to-one basis into the original Kriya Yoga and guiding them to self-realization. He can be reached at: 310-817-3456 and vedickriyayoga@yahoo.com

Forrest Knutson

Forrest Knutson

Forrest Knutson read of Lahiri Mahasaya and his Kriyayoga Pranakarma in "Autobiography of a Yogi" when he was 14. Applying as a SRF monastic at 17. During his time as a Postulant, cloistered in Encinitas, he discovered a system of biofeedback for meditation, which he would later write a book about. After 5 years of service he left the ashram to follow more closely Lahiri Baba's example and pursue the self-reliant life of a yogi-householder.

In his study of this Yogastra he has found the Sri Panchanon Bhattacharya lineages the most pure and faithful to the unparalleled genius and divinity that is Yogaraj Shyama Charan Lahiri Mahasaya; he is the Krishna of our times, and to meddle with that Charioteer's original council is to risk the loss of our own Kurushetra battle. It is with this internal guidance that Forrest sought out Sri Ashok Singh who has so perfectly preserved this transmission. Not a hollow instruction, but a living breath of fire handed from one guru to the next.

Forrest was authorized as a Kriya Yoga Guru by Sri Ashok Singh in 2017. Following in this householder line, he is dedicated to initiating sincere seekers on a one-to-one basis into Lahiri Baba's original Kriya Yoga system and guiding them into non-dual bliss. Duane Fowler

Duane Fowler

As a youth raised in a Christian church Duane studied the bible and learned devotion to Jesus Christ. At seventeen he experienced the baptism of fire in the spine, but unable to find a teacher to guide him, he struggled on until reading Autobiography of a Yogi. In Los Angeles, in 1993 Duane met his friend and teacher Forrest Knutson. Little did he know at the time that one day Lahiri Mahasaya's pranakarma would be revealed by his lifelong friend and counselor.

Duane has found the teachings of Jesus to be in complete alignment with the Gita as revealed by Sri Lahiri Mahasaya. It is with profound gratitude Duane has recieved this living breath of fire as preserved by Sri Ashok Singh and Forrest Knutson. Duane was Ordained as a Kriya Yoga Guru by Forrest Knutson as of August 2018, following this sacred Householder line; dedicated to guiding his students into the Non-dual at the medulla. Janzel Martinez

Janzel was born and raised as a Christian until he began searching for a more personal experience of God at the age of nine years old. His search led him to Gnosticism, Metaphysics, ISKCON, Buddhism and many other spiritual disciplines until he received Kriya Yoga initiation at the age of 15 from Self-Realization Fellowship, which he joined as a monastic for ten years after completing his Bachellor in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Puerto Rico.

After experiencing deeper realizations through sadhana he began searching for a Kriya Yoga lineage that could exemplify the precepts of Lahiri Baba and Sanatana Dharma in its traditional form.

Thus in 2012 Janzel found refuge at the feet of Sri Ashok Kumar Singh, whom initiated him into the Kriya lineage of Panchanon Bhattacharya, and in September 2018 gave him authorization to initiate and guide others into the sacred science of Kriya Yoga. John Pish

John Pish

I was born into the Catholic tradition. At the age of eight, my teacher, a nun, declared to her third-grade class that, “Anyone of you could be Christ!” And, oddly, that seemed to make sense to me. But, why?

In time, the answer began to show itself through the smoke of a psychological and spiritual battle that included joining a twelve-step program, and, in 1987, I first experienced the transformational effects of spiritual practices. In 1989, I joined the Self-Realization Fellowship and was initiated into Kriya. In 2016, I was drawn to Ananda, and in 2019 I was finally initiated into the original Kriya of Lahiri Mahasaya by Forrest Knutson.

The practice of Kriya has brought the advent of a state of consciousness that I can meekly call “unified.” And though it may sound silly, it is a state where everything seems to make sense, but nothing is really understood. It is a state of peaceful wonder, without worry, that seems to expand with practice.

Forrest Knutson ordained me as a Kriya Guru in 2020. I can be reached at: johnthepish@gmail.com

Philip Ward

Philip Ward

After reaching a point of extreme depression, suffering, and desperation in 2009 Philip began to question reality. He began to think that there had to be something more to this life and began an honest wholehearted search for God.

Over the years that followed this search for God took him many places but his search ended with Kriya Yoga initiation from Forrest Knutson. Through the process of Kriya Yoga sadhana Philip began to have deep realizations that completely changed his entire outlook on life. Philip believes that true Kriya initiation is the greatest blessing that one can ever ask for. Often times he wonders why he was so lucky to find this rare true Kriya of Lahiri Mahasaya in this lifetime? Philip believes that a blessing this great is not something that one can selfishly keep to themselves. He feels that it is his duty and responsibility to pass the flame of this true Kriya of Lahiri Mahasaya on to others.

Philip currently teaches out of the Southwest United States. He was ordained by Forrest Knutson in 2020, and can be reached at: philipkriyaban@gmail.com

Kanta Masters

Kanta Masters

At the age of 17 Kanta began searching for something more resonant than the Catholic tradition in which she was raised. After graduating university, she came upon Autobiography of a Yogi and first received initiation at Ananda Cooperative Community in 1971. Within a year she left Ananda and received Kriya initiation from SRF. Since then she has practiced Kriya twice daily without fail. She completed several weeks-long full darkness immersions, alone, at her retreat center, co-owned with her husband Dennis, in Idyllwild, Ca. She has lived in India for periods of months to a year. She has visited the sacred shrines dear to Kriyabans and prayed deeply in the Himalayas for greater depth in meditation. During her last stay in India in 2018 she was made aware of Ashok Singh and Original Kriya Yoga. She and her husband were initiated by Ashok upon their return. Their daughter received initiation shortly thereafter. Kanta was ordained in June 2020 when she also received the final Kriyas, 6 and 7.

She now resides in Kaivalya, the Sacred Valley, in Tennessee. This extraordinary property will be perpetually kept in Trust. In 2021, there will be one residence for longer-term rental by very sincere seekers. One at a time they will engage in deep sadhana and hopefully reach final culmination of their Spiritual search. Preparation of this space has been a costly undertaking, and the monthly charge will be reflective of this. She can be reached at: kantamasters@gmail.com
